Hello! My name is Elissa and I live in NJ. My sons were given 2 hermit crabs by their aunt and grandmother while vacationing on the Jersey shore. After reading a bit about them, I've just invested in what I hope is a proper habitat for them. I had no idea hermit crabs had so many requirements. Now I know why the crabs I had as a kid never lived very long--I was doing it all wrong!

Anyway I have lots of questions so I'm off to post them in the appropriate places!

Hi Elissa,

Glad to have you, I am new here too and I have learned quite alot just in the few days I've been reading. Everyone here is nice and very helpful. I have also already done some shopping through Hermit Crab Addiction, Lots of good stuff there, I just can't wait to get it...eeee (excited sorry!) Anywhoo I know it's alot of reading but you always find what your looking for and if you don't see it you can always ask!! Again Welcome and Happy Crabbing!!

I bet a majority of the members here will tell you that they started out all wrong too
