Default Hi! I'm new here!

Hello everyone, my name is Mechelle. I recently adopted a small PP from my niece and yesterday got it a friend, a larger PP. I noticed that the larger one (named Yo by my daughter) needed a larger shell. So I bought several and got them ready and laid out the ones that I thought he would be interested in on the kitchen counter, and Oh My Gosh!, he switched shells right in front of me, my daughter, and my husband! It was the coolest thing I have ever seen an animal do! He didn't even care that we were surrounding him.

WELCOME glad to have you here
That is very cool he switched- I only had one in all the crabs I had that changed in the shell bin after their welcome buggie bath.

I have to agree....it is pretty cool and I never get tired of seeing them switch! I recorded one shell switch on video. Some of my crabs have been desperate to change shells and others just checked things out first.

One of my crabs that I got yesterday switched shells no longer than an hour in it's new home. I didn't get to see it though. That's neat.

My small one, named Nurple, changed shells on Friday to a green turbo, then decided he didn't like it so he changed back to the old one, then on Sunday changed back to the green turbo but has been checking out a different shell a few times but I guess decided he would stay in the turbo. I guess the turbo isn't really what he's wanting but he doesn't like the other choices either. Poor guy.
