Trouble uploading

I am having trouble uploading pics for you all to see! The system let me upload my avatar, but not pics. Says that it failed everytime. Anyone have any suggestions?

im not sure what you are doing so its hard for me to say--I dont use the "system" way I upload all my pic to photobucket and use the [IMG] tags they give you. I know if the pic is too big it may not let you. Actually you do need to host them off site they want the http code here again I dont use that.
photobucket is free I have several accts with them and they are really easy to use
