I can suggest several very reputable sights that carry large shells

Volleyball for that size crab you can first try places like Walmart craft aisles for shell baskets, Michael's (arts and craft stores), Big Lots, dollar stores, Crate and Barrel (they even have cholla) and some bath stores like Bed and Bath, and Linens n' Things as many of them carry seashore themed goods and have bags or baskets of shells for you to put in pretty vases or bowls.

Boil them for 5 minutes first and dip and dunk them to get the gunk out. I also fill them with water and hold them up to check for leakers. Toss any that are cracked or chipped or reserve for other purposes.
