What is the longest you have had a hermit crab? I'm curious to know how long these little creatures actually last in captivity.

I've had my little Robby since last August. Thats the longest a crab has lasted with me, I had 2 bad batches where almost everyone died at once. I learned where to buy hermit crabs and where not to.

My current hermits are all doing GREAT and they're all very healthy & happy. I think I'll have these guys for a long time.

Mine are 3 years old--well some that is the oldest I have

I would also say it depends on how old they are when you get them and their previous living conditions. I will be cming up on a year in September on Flash, Spooky, and Baby....three of the original 4. We lost Hercules during a molt.
