Does anyone live in or near Toronto? I live in Oshawa (close to T.O.) and I'm having a hard time finding shells big enough for my 2 biggest crabs. My biggest is molting and is in the biggest turbo shell I have been able to find, now I don't know what to do.
The opening needs to be 1" 1/2 or at the littlest 1" 1/4. I have the pink spikey shells, perfect for her size, well she wants nothing to do with them. I also have the smooth round looking ball shells, but I they aren't big enough for her. I've looked at the crabbage patch, but for me to order from there it would cost me a fortune, with shipping and all. SO, I'm stuck. I can't find any stores that sell decent big shells. Any advice? Know where I can get some?

Some times you can find them on ebay or craigs list but I have been finding a lot of them at the petsmart in LaCrosse WI. I wouldn't have a problem driving there to get you one but I have no money right now so I would need you to send the money in advance, which would require you to trust me very much so if you don't want to do that I completely understand. Also the only ones I've seen there that are bigger are turbos so I would look that style up and see if that is a style that you think they'd like.

Our Walmart's here in Ontario carry NO shells at all. They are all little small, usually cracked, decorative shells.
There are three things you can try: (1) order on line (2) ask the guy at the Pickering Flea Market if he can order you some - he has to have a supplier somewhere; (3) get the painted shells he has, boil them and scrape the paint off.

See, I just went to the guy at the flea market and he was no help. He said craft stores, been to them all. And I tried to scrape paint off, holy hard!!!
Now, is there any way I could use a paint thinner then boil the numerous times after??? I tried it with one, and after even running it under warm water the smell was gone. Its a evaporate anyway, however I did boil in like 10 times.
