I'm back & so r the ANTS!
Yes I'm finally back from Kauai Hawaii.It was beautiful there!So calm & pretty.Anyway my neighbor was watching & feeding & watering my little hermies & today when I got back of course I went straight to my little guys but,did not like what I saw AT ALL!!! This is not the first time I've had ants.(2,nd time) I freaked out!They were everywhere.(Espically in the food dish)So I imdiatly took all of my hermies out checked them over & put them in iso.Then I took the "tat" outside sprayed it down with the hose & threw away the sand & most of the fish pebbles.Is there some way you can prevent ants from being a well known creature in the "tat"?

I did'nt bring anything from outside in.(If I did I would wash it,bake it,boil it,etc.We've had alot of rain here & I guess it just brings them in.

Do you feed them any kind of tree bark? sometimes I find that in mine so I boil it or microwave it. (Painful way to die, isn't it?)

Nope.No tree bark.Tree bark is safe 4 them?

I feed mine oak bark (full of tannins which enhance color and increase health of crab by helping digestive system etc.) and it is perfectly safe. it's even on the safe food list.
