I couldn't tell if s/he was in it or not, though. I didn't see Kauai but I'm sure he's down there somewhere. Just wanted to share this exciting bit of news. I got a few pics too! I'll upload them to photobucket.
One of my two crabs just did this the other day. One day it was there the next gone. So a few days have gone by and I decided to move the habitat to a location where I could look under the tank. When I looked up I could see one of the crabs and It looked reddish pink. Should I be concerned?

One of my medium PP's is molting on the side of the tank where I can see her. I don't know if she'll stay there or move but I love looking at her. I try not to do it too much as to stress her out. She is down to the bottom of the tank - at least 6 inches, just sitting there not doing much. She has been there for about a week now. I hope I get to watch her molt, that would be so cool!

Sabmurf - is it more red or more pink? After a molt, they are pink and hairy with sharp nails on their legs.
If he is more red - that means he is healthy and you are feeding him well.

Thats soo awesome! Congratulations! I have 6 down right now, it's my first time for a molt. 2 of mine are due any day to come up. They have been down for a month now. I saw one the other day while I was looking under the tank. They are small crabs, how come they aren't up yet? Anyone know????

Oh and congrats on the molt Stephen, I wish mine would molt....waiting patently....
It is hard to sex the small ones! Nemo and Berry are both pretty small so it's really hard to sex em!
