I doubt that hes actually molting, but my crabbie that just came up from a molt last week has burried down again. I'm positive he molted the first time, because his colour is different and when he went down he was missing pieces of leg that he has now grown back. Should I be worried? What could he possibly be doing?

The worst part is, the 3 that are down have all decided to go down beside eachother, and I'm scared they might have come across eachother's holes or caved eachother in. Of all the open sand area, they all pick the same spot. And they go down just far enough from the glass that they don't give me a nice view. *pulls out hair* UGH.

They'll be fine, so don't stress it. Fights while molting or buried are not as common as people may think. I've had MANY crabs molt next to each other or inside small areas (like the shower caddy) and no casualties come from it.
The only reason it may seem "common" to find injury from molters being attacked is because those are the more popular threads created by people. No one really makes a "YAY SUCCESS IN A MOLT" thread because it's usually not that interesting unless something major changed. Basically, don't let the 'hermit crab media' distort your mind and make you worry about molts and possible attacks. They're natural, they may be vulnerable, but casualties are very uncommon and should NOT be stressed over. |

I have 2 crabs that I have only seen a couple of times. I think some crabs just like to live under the sand. Thats why I ended up with more crabs than I actually need, because I like to see activity!!! hehe

Yadokari is absolutely right. And I too have crabs that come up from a moult and then in a day or two go back down to chill.
They've been around enough to know what they're doing.
