Is a Gel leg a Sign of molting?

I was showing the kids my new crab, Dozer(who has already changed into a diff shell out of the crappy one he came in, woohoo) and had to take Hermie of the screen lid, so i could take the screen out and noticed that where hermie is missing a leg. there is some clear gel liquid, and i'm just wondering if it's a sign of hermie goin' to molt soon or not. i've had him since Jan. and he hasn't molted yet.

I don't know much about moulting or anything, but i was reading somewhere that when a crab has a missing limb, and they have grown a gel over it, it means its like the first stage of moulting or something, like they have to regrow all there missing limbs before they moult, im not sure,

But im pretty damn sure its a sign of them about to go underr :}

Defiantely a gel limb is a sign of an impending molt--first the gel leg forms then the get ready and go down and molt--it amazes me that a gel blob turns into a leg--I really dont understand how that happens but man there are a few of my body parts I would like to fix

lol, yeah i'd like to fix some body parts too, lol. i hope hermie survives the molt, after all he is from my original batch of crabs that i got around new years eve, the other two died like 2 weeks later, so i must be doin' something right since hermie is still with me, YEAH!
