you were able to pull him out even a tiny bit? My opinion is that he's not alive. A crabs instinct is to retreat into his shell. They don't voluntarily leave the shell or let someone or something take them out of it. It's what keeps them safe and alive.
Even when molting there's some movement. A tiny flicker or something.

Just my guess on this. I hope Im wrong tho! I really do.

just wait the night youll know by morning if hes dead or not because it takes about 5 hours for the stink to set in

Ok, I know he has died. I feel bad for these little guys, coming from their natural habitats to pet stores. Thanks to use loving people we can give them a home He smelled fishy. I'm sorry guys. Luv ya all for supporting life.

Ok, I told my daughter, thank god she understands, you know life goes with death. I home school her. I have two other children that go to public schools. I really think homeschooling her has done us well. She is ok with it.

Sorry about that...its sad to lose one. Just think of the positive side, he wasn't in a crappy pet store with bad conditions. He was in a really good home.

Im really sorry to hear that ive been through it 3 times and i know its hard i cry every time i cant help it n like vkums said atleast he didnt die in poor conditions

I think my others may be down, molting that is. I smell a sweet smell in the tank and haven't seen the five for three days. Hopefully they make it through the change
