Are the other hermits bothering him? If they are I would do what HermitPaws said otherwise I would just leave him be. Mine don't usually go after each other even when they are molting.

I have a crab that showed no signs of molting, but this morning I awoke to find a freshly molted crab next to an exoskeleton. My other crabs aren't bothering her at all, and they're not trying to eat her exo, so I am just letting her be for the moment. I put some crushed egg shell next to her exo, hopefully nobody will bother it.
