Cute set up, but isn't that green shell painted?

I know---I know---yessss---it's a painted shell
. (if you look closely you'll see one in the back that is dark purple)![]() But.......in my defence, that's how I bought them, and when they finished isolation and went in the big tank, they spent the evening exploring, eating, etc. and then sometime in the night they went Pooof---completely disappeared off the face of the substrate. ![]() Actually they went down under and when they came back up they changed shells. When I reached in to take out the shells to throw away is when I saw them. I couldn't pass up a photo opportunity so I tried to take a picture of them before I removed the shells. Thanks for noticing...keep me straight...

It's good to know that they changed out of them.
It seems like the crabs in painted shells never want to change out of them, they'll just linger in them forever.
