It's me again with another question!

What kinds of plants do I need for my guys? Are they plastic or "cloth" like? Are they the kind you get for fish, or is there something special for crabs? I have no plants now, but I do have moss (which they love!) but I thought they are suppose to have plants too... are the plants for climbing or decoration? Thanks all

I use regular decorative silk plants, no berries or glitter on them, wash them good in salt water, but don't boil, they will melt. My guys love hanging in them.

Dose anyone know of live plants which are safe for crabbies????????

Check the edible flowers and Food lists on http://www.epicureanhermit.com

You can also feed real bamboo (not lucky bamboo) and mangrove seedlings.

I use silk and plastic in my tank. A word of caution though-some silk plants may leak dye into the water should they come in contact with it-especially the cheap dollar store plants. I'm sure that can't be too good for them LOL.

Some silk and plastic plants also have a wire inside to allow for easy positioning-you may want to avoid these as well. If the wire becomes exposed (from too much bending or the crabs pinching), you run the risk of it rusting in the humid tank conditions. I'm not saying your crabs are going to be harmed by the wire specifically, but it may be a good idea to avoid metal of any kind in the tank.

Thanks everyone! I have lots of fish plants that I can give them. Also just as an update... I was living my guys alone and letting them get use to us (not holding them) well I couldnt take it anymore... Saturday night I put them on a towel in the living room floor after about 15 minutes they started walking around. Then I sat on the floor with them, then finally I placed them on my hand. By the time I went to put them back up they where crawling on my hands while I was putting them up! My son LOVED having them out... my husband even enjoyed them (and he had thought the crabs were silly) I was nervous about getting pinched, but they didn't lol
