Ok so I am hoping someone can answer this for me...
I have a 60 watt sun glo bulb and a 40 watt night glo bulb. When I have the sun glo bulb on during the day the heat and humidity are great around 80/80 to 82/82, when I turn on the night glo bulb the heat and humidity are all out of wack, the heat is around 74 degrees and the humidity is in the 90's. How is that and why does the temp being lower raise the humidity? Also what should I do at night so the humidity doesn't go above 82%? Do I need to get a 60 watt night glo bulb or even a ceramic heating element bulb that only does heat not light? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

its a 10G? Thats why---more space less issues. Just like at night it gets dewy same thing.......only other thing is vent it more or use a UTH - do you have a bubbler that keeps the air flowing with a hole or 2 in the plastic part of the glass lid gizmo- its tough to get it right

I guess play around with it light watts-the holes are a good thing- bubbler helps humidity stay up.

I don't have a problem keeping the humidity up, trust me it is way to high. I have a problem keeping it the same with each bulb, the day bulb the temp and humidity are in the low 80's and the night bulb the temp is around 74 degrees and the humidity is in the middle 90's. I need to figure out how to keep the humidity down (like in the mid to low 80's). Is it bad for them if it is too humid? I know it can cause mold but it is bad for the crabs too?

I was going to get a 60 watt night bulb, I figured that if the 60 watt day one works then a 60 watt night one should be good. My fixture holds up to 75 watt bulbs so I am good with the 60 watt one. If that doesn't work I was thinking of a 60 watt ceramic heating element, what do you think about this?

Yes I am going to, once my husband gets home I will go to petsmart and get a 60 watt night and see what happens. I would rather do the light bulb than the ceramic heater it is cheaper. I can't believe how expensive those ceramic heaters are. I did find a cheap one on ebay but I didn't want to buy it until I knew about the higher wattage night bulb first. With all the rain we have had I have not had to use the lights to heat the tank or keep the humidity up. I have the lid off when I am home or awake because the heat and humidity is too high with all the rain.
