Default Shell Changing???

I've had my hermies for two years, and they've both molted at least 3 times if not 4 or 5. Yet, they've only changed shells one time, and they simply refuse to stay in a new shell! It's weird- I get them bigger ones in all different kinds, even ones just like theirs. But no matter what shells they try on, they always revert back to their old shells a few minutes later. I know that they're becoming crammed in those teeny shells, so why won't they stay in a bigger one?

Now should I force them to stay in a new one? I mean, should I wait for them to change and then remove the smaller shell?? I did just that a couple of days ago, and the theft victim (lol) is currently switching back and forth between two newer shells, but can't seem to decide which one to pick. The other crab is still in the smaller shell.

Advice would be greatly appreciated!

are they painted is that why you are worried about the shell? If they are not painted then leave them be........keep offering the new shells. They will do what is best for them
