Wow. I had no idea they chirped D: Well, if it's a sign of distress, I'm glad they haven't done it for the two years I've had them.

I took a shell away from one hermit crab after he changed. Just last night I heard a deep croaking sound and it got faster and faster. It scared me because I was falling asleep! I turned on the light and went up to my crabarium. The one that I'd taken the old shell from was on top of the other, who was doing the croaking! I was all, "Hey, you spoiled brat!" and got him off the other one. D:< I ended up giving his shell back because I didn't want the other one to get too stressed by constantly being harassed until he fled his shell.
