Does anybody else use this? They are those strips of coconut bark that you can put up against the wall of your tank for the crabs to climb on.... I have some, and I've bought some big strips of velcro to stick it to the wall. The crabs LOVE to climb on this, but every morning when I would wake up, the bark would have fallen over (I'm guessing that my medium tries to follow my micro up the bark and is too heavy) onto the ground. And SOMETIMES when I come in the room, either Padre or Pip is stuck to a piece of velcro, the bark having fallen to the floor!
I know my hermies love the bark, but I just can't keep it in there anymore with the thought of them falling and getting stuck! Does anybody keep this in their tank with a good way to keep it up?

I use the heavy duty velcro and it does stay up. Also - a small staple will hold the one part of the velcro to the cocofiber. It hides well within the fiber.
My problem was that some of my hermies wanted to hide behind the fiber, which could be what was happening in your tank. They force it away from the wall. |

Currently my hermies are molting in another tank so I decided to build them a new one as I waited and haven't added dishes yet until I finish the tank (still have more plans).
The 2nd level on the right it's a plastic shower caddy that I hot glued coco fiber to the front of and created a pillar on one side touching the floor to create a sort of get away for the hermies underneath. It's filled with soil. The 2nd level on the left side is coco fiber wrapped around a piece of plastic egg crate material. It's not filled with anything just pure fiber. Thanks for the compliment

WOW, that's really neat!
I have been using the heavy velcro, I will have to go ahead and try for the hot glue. I really like your tank, Titan! Man my hermies would go nuts over that! They love to hide and climb and move things... lol. Speaking of which... is natural for the hermies to move things? Like, heavy things? They always move their freshwater dish and their food dish, and their hermie hut hidey thing.... I thought that would be too heavy for them to move??

Let them rearange the tat or else ... you'll be standing beside the tank wondering where did everything go to? Not only that but it's very frustrating when you're forever rearanging the tat to what it should look like. Those buggers will move everything faster than you can put it back!
