Hi, I'm New Here!
|
Ok,so theres this small little pet store that I never even noticed but I heard they had a good stock.(They did, they even had these HUGE chinese dragon type lizard :P) And they had hermit crabs but only in 2 sizes. Micros and Jumbos. When I say micro I mean nickel sized things. But then the jumbos are like tennis ball huge.
I havent had any molts yet but I hear they totally stink because you dont see them for months but I can take it. Im kinda scared and little ones molt alot more than bigger ones. Jumbos only molt once or twice a year but then again they act a little lethargic. Im only 13 so im saving money to buy them and right now I could buy any of them that i wanted. XD my parents said they arnt spending anymore money on my "obsecion" as they called it,with crabbies. Which one should I buy? |

Personally, I like the micros (they're so cute and active).
But jumbos are pretty great too. My hermits' sizes vary. :P Btw, my parents are about the same. I have to depend on holidays for crab money. xD

I can relate to your parents - The story goes that you want this kind of pet, and several months later the thrill is gone and it is mom who takes care of the pet. Well - that is the way it generally goes.
Anyway - if you get the Jumbos, you have to have your substrate deep enough for them to dig down for their molt. Generally the larger the crab, the longer it will take for a molt. That said, if you you have plans for a 10 gallon, get the micros. You want to get two or more since they are very social and need company. |
