I have been reading threads regarding heating problems, as last night was the first night for my crabs here and thru the night I got up and noticed that the temp was under 20deg (70) I quickly got a couple of towels and placed them on top of the tank. Now that it is day I have the light on also and the temp is raising, yesterday it sat around the 24deg (76) mark.
I read that someone suggest putting a towl under the tank, I use UTH and have a 2.5foot tank, I am unsure how many gallons it is, 10 I think. I have just placed my 1inch thick piece of styrene back under it from when I used it for fish. It is pretty close to touching if not touching the heat pad. Will this matter? Sorry about the long post. Jess |

Sorry i don't know the answer to your heating Q's but it sounds like you may a 15 Gallon not a 10 gal. A ten gal is normaly about a 1.5 feet in length.
Also for heat you can put towels on the sides Hope you find your answer... Good luck. |
