I have a 10 gallon tank with 3 crabbies already occupying it. They are all about the size of a quarter and I was wondering if I can put a few more crabbies in? I was thinking of getting some smaller ones, but did not know if there was enough room. Two of my three crabs have been buried for weeks and I'm sure the other guy is getting lonely. LOL.

Definitely room for more
![]() They live in mass quantities in the wild. So. . . the more, the merrier, (just don't over-populate) You should be fine :] Meg

I have a 10 gallon too. At the moment I have three topside and one I hope is burried. They are all small and one I think would be considered a tiny, but I hope to get a few more in the future. If I get too many more, they all won't be able to fit in their favorite hideout. Which is a clay pot half buried in the sand despite many other hidey-holes they can occupy.

I bought a couple of the miniature clay pots for my 10 gallon set-up.....try putting multiple hidies in there to alleviate any fights over privacy. I've seen crabs shove other crabs out of hidies to claim the coveted spot...

I have a funny story about that. I have a "tree fort" that the crabs love and they all cram into this fort on top of each other and almost fill the entire airspace. I just bought 4 new tiny crabs this week, and one of the little crabs has been making his way up the rope higher each day to sleep. Yesterday I checked on everyone and this timy crab was sleeping on the EDGE of the fort holding on for dear life. Later in the day when I checked on him he was at the very top of the heap (I don't even know how he cramed his little body in). I had to laugh! I guess he fits right in to my group. The other 3 are buried to destress.

I made it, my son used to play with this toy. It's a log cabin that came with cowboy set (from the playmobile toy company). I added popsycle sticks for legs, and it stands about 8 inches above the sand. It has a door opening and 2 windows that open and shut and sometimes there are so many crabs in there that they have opened the windows. My husband and I can not figure out how to post pictures on this site. We have been playing around with it a few times. I would love to show you my set up.
