Default PPS Question

When a crab is going through PPS, does it always die? Can it recover if proper care is taken?

My new medium sized PP that I've had for a week is going through it and I'm worried about him. He's losing color & lethargic, yet he's still eating! I gave him a piece of shrimp with the tail attached and ground up sand dollar sprinkled on top. But he's not getting up to get water.

Any answers and suggestions is always greatfull. Thank you.

no they dont always die- could be he wants to molt but is weak right now........but then again he could be. You will never kow how far beyond repair a crab is- I think alot had to do with the crabs themselves and their will and genetic strengths like a strong mamma n dadda.......
Unfortunately I have had some seem to hang on forever eating and drinking but just not themselves and they still perish. Best of luck all you can do is your best! Keep us posted

I am sooooo sorry to here that. Wish you the best of luck. If he's not moving, make sure to bring a little food and water to him. Also, leave him alone, don't handle him. Keep me posted.

Since you've only had the crab for a week, maybe he needs more time to adjust to his new, and wonderful, environment. As long as he has access to water and food and a place to hide, you've done all you could.
