Mine seems pretty happy and most of all healthy! BUt your right they do need special attention, but no more love than all the other hermies need : )

I just got a pair of them but I don't think they like their set up because the boy (Beeren) tries to climb out all night.

Emma Jean do you have a glass lid?Because if you do they would'nt be able to get out.I have a screen lid & one of my hermie's tried to escape but,could'nt get through the little space that was left for air.(I put a towel wrapped around it)

The cover is a sliding type because it is a 35 breeder and I have plastic wrap over that for the time being until I can get to the hardware store again to get a piece of plexy glass to cover the screen. So I know they won't get out, but they are really trying.

Lol.I bet.I had a second level made out of wood but,sadly it would'nt stay up so I just took it out & my biggest hermie @ the time (Big Red) climbed right up on this little white string I put up to tie this hermie hut up & since I have a screen lid he just put's his little feet through & climbed around from one to the next corner till he finally got tired so I took him off.Lol.It was different.Now I have drift wood set up.It's kinda like a second level & my new straw goes crazy over it.Climbs it everynight from 7:30pm till ???

You can Get Strawberry at petstore sometime they will where i live they do.

i got mine both from petco. its the only place that seems to sell them but they are expensive
