I use the heavy duty velcro and it does stay up. Also - a small staple will hold the one part of the velcro to the cocofiber. It hides well within the fiber.
My problem was that some of my hermies wanted to hide behind the fiber, which could be what was happening in your tank. They force it away from the wall.
