Vinegar rinses out well. Heck, I use it in my humidifiers to clean the units. And when your containers get the salt residue on the bottom, just put vinegar in it and allow it to soak for a while (over night does the best job). Of course that works if you have a second container to use in the crabitat or you are doing a deep clean.
