white rice?

    can i feed my crabs white rice from a box?

    I did but make sure when you cook it, it is cooked in declorinated water. What I did was put some rice in a cup and pour the declorinated water in the cup and wait till it got soft then drained out the rest of the water. I wouldn't feed it raw as when it gets wet it expands and I am not sure what would happen if the crab ate it without it being expanded first. I remember reading a topic on another forum about it and they said they were not sure if it would expand in the crabs tummy or not.

    Which is better for them: brown rice or white rice?

    I imagine whole grain brown rice would be better. It is a healthier choice for humans as it has more vitamins, fiber, etc. This would apply to the crabs as well, I believe.

    I agree with flamelet, brown rice is much better, as it has more fiber and nutrients that they need.

    brown rice is great for them! i feed it sometimes but they dont seem to touch it. how are your hermies doing? you havent been on in a while. i hpe everything is ok!

    I'll try to feed some of my crabs rice. If I have any... Humf I don't have anything around my house.:(:eek: Where so you find all this stuff clover? You must have a very large place to put food thingy.

    Oh stop it! LOL ;) You guys are gonna make me start drooling all over the computer at the thought of eating brown rice!! :eek: It's my favorite food ever.

    And I do second clover in saying that it's a lot more healthy for the crabs and you. :p

    Cool! I have brown rice flour in the chicken/ veggie baby food. You're right, clover. hayleye1997 hasn't been on in ages. :( I hope her hermies are okay.
