I have noticed that when i turn my crabs over and look at their shells there is a bunch of dirt/leftover food in the tiny hole of their shells. Whats this and should I try to clean this out for them? (im not talking the main opening of their shells)

I wouldn't worry about dirt if you have water pools deep enough for them to submerge themselves. My Daisy is constantly in and out of the sand making tunnels and sitting in her food bowls and she cleans up quite nicely!
