I have a fish tank hood on my 10 gallon now and was wondering whats a good reptile type hood to use. I got the light bulb type day and night bulbs and I seen a reptile hood that will hold those but it was $100. I am not sure I want to spend that much. Is there a clear glass or plexiglass type hood that I can have my clipped light hang right over to shine on? What kind of hoods do some of you use if you use the over the head bulbs as a heat source?

you can buy things from petguys.com or petdiscounters etc etc they are much much cheaper than any "pet" store.

Watch the clip ons people have cracked entire tanks with them. I use flukers which house day/night bulbs and has outles for bubblers. You really need a glass lid to keep humidity in

I looked on the flukers website and I just seen a clamp on holder? Maybe I am missing something.
