hey all, I just want to find out the best option for my crabs. let me have it!
do you have city water or well water?
Personally I use spring water because we have hard water.
I have city water, but I have been told soo much. I heard when the purify spring water they take out nutrients crabs need. and tap and dechlorinator is best. I'm trying to see what the majority says. I have 4 crabs 3 years, no deaths.thanks for posting
is your water treated with chloramine? Its an ammonia - chlorine mix and depending on the % in your water you may not want to use it. You should be able to find out on your water district page.
You can use tap water even if it has chloramines a declorinator such as API water conditioner removes chloramines also.3 drops per gallon does the trick. I have used it into my 5th year of having the same hermit crabs and I havent even used 1/2 the bottle.
lol we couldnt get it out of our water. It ended up killed 12 of our fish so I stopped giving it to the crabs. Our content was about 10%. My crabs prefer the glub at PetCo but it's expensive after awhile so I bought spring water.
