I saw one of these at my local herp shop and decided it was much too big even for my 120 gallon tank. It did look interesting though.

I like my TropicAire because the bulk of it stays outside the tank and doesn't take up valuable decoration room.

How big is it? None of the online stores have it's measurements listed.

I can't remember exactly, but it seemed at the time like it would take up about a third of a ten gallon tank's floor space, maybe a little more. Pretty tall as well.

I got my Volcano yesterday, And it is awesome! Two things that you can't seem to tell from any of the product reviews out there: #1 it's size.. I was really nervous about this, but it was not nearly as big as I thought it would be.. It's footprint is actually a lot smaller than the zoo med waterfall (which I also purchased) It measures 10 inches high, and about 9-10 inches from corner to corner. It is not round like it appears in the pictures, it is actually a very nice sized corner piece. #2 and a big bonus is that it is hollow in the inside, so the two cave opening that you see in the pictures are actually entrances and it forms a nice sized cave for them to hide in.. the waterreservoir is built into the top 3 inches of the mountain, and everythng below that is all open space. I paid $39.99 for mine, which I thought was a great price since I had seen them for as much as $79. But when searching for size info I had run across This site which sells them for $29.99.
I will post some pictures in the picture forum later.

    That's great!!![IMG]
I would like one, but that's TOO expensive for me, besides, I don't have a lot of room in my tank, it just wouldn't fit[IMG]. Unless I use my ten gal tank, do ya think it would work [IMG]???

I don't think it would fit in a ten gallon.

I assume this plugs in, right? Does it need a separate pump or anything? I am intrigued ... [IMG]

I does plug in, it came with the little fogger included, the plug for the fogger feeds through a protective grill at the top (so nobody can fall in to the water reservoir)and through a small hole at the top of the mountain. There is even a red glow when the fogger is on, and it shut off automatically when the water gets too low. They really thought of everything with this thing, it was made with the critters in mind.

OK, I am sold! [IMG] I am ordering my volcano tonight! I'm planning a signficant re-do of my big tank in preparation for adding my many new crabs at the end of the month, and this will be a nice addition.

Oh, they will love it.. when you consider that it is all open space underneath, and it adds nice height for climbing, the little bit of space it takes up is well worth it.

I got my volcano today (from Big Apple Herp). I just set it up in my kitchen to make sure it works, and oh WOW is it cool! Hopefully I'll get it into my tank tonight so that my crabs can fall in love with it too. The mist it generates felt really good to me (especially on my sunburn) and I bet they will love it too. However, I think my micro would fit through the fingerhole in the grill! I'll have to find something to plug it before I move him out of iso.

Wow, that was fast! They are going to love it. If you block the hole in the back it will affect how the fogs rolls out of it, maybe you can make a cover out of some plastic screening? I was thinking the same thing about my new little one.
