I'm a vegetarian and my parents eat very little meat. So, I don't have that much meat to give my hermies. What foods o you suggest I should give my hermies to make up for this? Nuts & legumes? Nearly every day, I give my hermies some crushed nuts and chopped up raisins because those are their favorites by far. Of course, I also give them fresh veggies, fruits and other stuff in addition ... Any ideas for what else they should have? Thanks... :)

You can always buy protein items online (for example, from Vicki's store), if you don't have a lot of things in the house. This is actually what I do because we don't have a lot of meat in the house either. It works out well! :)

Nuts, beans, peanut butter, eggs will all help. You could also ask any friends or family members who do eat meat to save you a piece(quarter size) Then you just freeze them for later use.

I will try chick peas. I just recently bought dried shrimp from Wal Mart made for hermies. But it's only shrimp -- no added anything.
