Yeah. You could get them for $5 on craigslist but you might not like the idea of calling and emailing all these people rather than walking in the store and just buying it. Buying is easier but sometimes you can get them with hoods for $10 on craigslist and hoods are sometimes really expensive.

I was looking for tanks on craigslist in my area and the cheapest 20 gallon tank I could find was for 15$. Is that okay for a 20 gallon? Also, is a 55gal. okay for 50$? And there's a 75 gal. for 60$. Which one of those is the best offer? Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread...

EDIT- I'm not allowed to get the 55g. or the 75g.:( But is the 20gal still a good offer?

The 75 gallon for $60 is definitely the best offer! :)

Ugh that's too bad. I'm not allowed to get the 75g or the 55g. But is the 20g for 15$ good? and can a 20g hold 3 smalls, 2 meds, and a jumbo?(I dont have a jumbo yet, but I want to get one.)

Oh. You can put that many in a 20 gallon if you want to squeeze. Jumbos need 10 gallons so he is your main setback. I would not buy the jumbo and buy the 20 gallon tank instead.

Here are some measurements for you OneOnion so you'll have them for a reference. This way it will help to have the size of the tank to know if it will fit into your space and budget. :)

Yeah the octagon's are taller than a regular 55 if my memory is correct. $20 is a good deal, nice find One Onion. I have been looking for a 20L or 30 gallon and of course none around. Last time I looked for a tank and couldnt find one I bought a brand new 55g and 1 week later there was a 75g for $50. As soon as I get my tank craigslist, Freecycle, newspapers and the shopper will be loaded with them. That is how my luck works.

Ugh...:(So it turns out I can't get the 55 gallon octagon with a stand for 20$. My mom was fine with it but my dad won't let me. He said I can get a bigger one in like a year.:(Long time from now.

Sorry to hear that OneOnion. Does your dad know that its a pretty good deal and that you could probably re-sell it next year for the same price if in good shape? But if dad says no then its usually no (I should know I am a father that likes to say no).

Yeah, I tried everything and he's not changing his mind. He has a point, though. I only got my 10g two months ago.

Oh pooey! My parents are like that, too. :( They got really annoyed when I asked them for a 40 gallon right after I got the 20 gallon. It was supposed to be a 35 gallon, though! A whole 15 gallons short! A 55 gallon wouldn't fit in our house but I really want one.
