So we were changing out food and water a bit ago and I decided to bring out one of them (only one I could see) for a photo shoot. I named this one Spaz because this crab is ALL over the place. While we were shooting and while it was doing it's spazy thing, it was flipped over and I'll be damned if Spaz isn't a GIRL. This is the first of either of our crabs that we KNOW is a female. Even got a pic of the gonopores for ya'll.

Now, can anyone figure out what sort of crab this might be? She is pretty dark but no noticeable purple on the BP to make me think PP. The whole crab seems to be dark red w/ a hint of dark purple throughout. The BP sort of looks like an Indo to me, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

Also, take a look at the claw in the first pic. Does something look odd there where it opens and closes? Didn't notice it when the crab was out but Steph just noticed in the pic.

Spaz is most definately a lady crab!!! :hello2:

Oh please rename her! I feel so badly that both my Freddie AND Edward Scissorhands are both girls! But, we had them both several months before we found out they were girls!

Spaz is so pretty, she needs a lady name. She looks so purple, I would be tempted to name her Violet, or Amethyst!

Wow she has beautiful coloring!! My bigger Indo is named Violet hehe =) For lots of my crabs I ended up naming them before I knew what gender they were (and there are plenty that I still don't know the gender of lol), but I was lucky in that Shelly, Holly and Violet all ended up actually being girls! I have an E named Missy (as in Miss E) and another one named Mystery (as in Mr. E) lol, and I have no idea what gender they are. Poor crabs if they are actually opposite! :confused5:

Thats my Sexy Crab!! She is a beauty! But she really is a SPAZ and I did not name her, and I can't change the name or there will be some domestic violence going on over here!

lol Steph, you can change the name to Miss Piggy if you want.

I love the names Bundy, very clever. We've named all of ours all kinds of different names and that crab is the only crab we know the sex of. I'm thinking they don't much care what their names are so it's all good.

oh that's a GREAT idea MAD, name them after wines. I'd love to have crabs named Pinot, Merlot, Griggio (just by itself), Noir, and on and on. That's a fantastic idea. If I ever get more that's what I'll go with (I love wine too so that fits for me). Even better yet I could name them after beer which I love even more: Lager, Pilsner, Stout. That could be fun too.

Hehehe, such fun possibilities there... :hello2:

lol, I have a Capt' Morgan, and a Ronni Bacradi in my tank. Glad to be of help.

I just said Merlot because of her rich red coloring.
