Is there an ingredients list on the bottle? There may be a chemical on there that the hermies can not have. I personally think that the calcium things for birds work well and I haven't bought them in a while but there are a pack of two mineral blocks for hermit crabs, one is a shovel and the other is a pale.

My crabs love those shovel and pail thingies. They only get to munch on them one night a week if that, because they poo blue and red all over the place. Plus I worry a bit about the coloring additives in there.
