I noticed that my penut butter has salt in it. Is that bad for them????
I spelled Peanut butter wrong sorry
yes it is bad
You need to got to a heath food store that has one of the peanut butter making machines.
if it's table salt then yes crabs cannot have table salt. I suggest getting Organic Peanut Butter. the organic stuff has sea salt instead of table salt and is much more healthier for your crabbies. so go to a grocery store with a organic section. where i live i have a store called Wegmans and it has it's own Nature's Valley section which is all organic(my mom is a vegan so anything she puts in her mouth is healthy!)so pretty much whatever she eats i know is safe for crabs
It's Skippy creamy peanut butter
Yeah most commercial type processed foods like that are not good for hermit crabs. They have chemicals and salt in it that are no good for crabs or really humans either. Almost every grocery store now a days has an organic section. Either look in the organic section of your grocery store or in the aisle with Peanut Butter. I am sure they will have an organic type.
Here are the Ingredients:
Roasted peanuts, sugar, palm oil, and salt
Yeah, don't use Skippy. Only use organic peanut butter.
I didn't use it yet since I saw it had salt in it
Don't use that. Try organic peanut butter that's only made of peanuts. I have Crazy Richard's 100% natural peanut butter. I don't know if they have it where you live.
If you have a Whole Foods, Trader Joes or a store like that they will usually carry organic foods.
I'll see if they have it at Wal*Mart since i'm buying my phone(broke it).
I got Crazy Richards from Shop Rite, but Trader Joes is great for organic stuff!
I once gave my crabs skippy creamy peanut butter, but I guess it's bad for them.
I will stop.
Yes, sodium is bad for them. . . If it is only a little ammount, I am sure it is okay, though. . .
Can always look on Ebay for a peanut butter machine. I had one when I was a kid, loved it!
You can buy organic/natural peanut butter (check the ingredients to make sure it's only peanuts) at most grocery stores if you want to offer it.
oh no, i just fed my hermies some of that! they seem okay... i hope they will be =/
Once or twice isn't going to be fatal, just don't give it to them anymore. Find a salt free brand.
