[IMG] [IMG] Ok here is a list of safe foods and treats for our hermit crabbies. Sandra i would love if you could compose us a list of safe household foods and merge it into this list. [IMG]

    (Hikari fish foods)
    Gold
    Cichild Gold
    Cichild Excel
    Discus Red
    Sinking Carnivore
    Marine -A- & -S-
    Micro Pellets
    Tubilina
    Sinking Wafers & Algae Wafers
    Spirulina
    Crab Cuisine
    Tubfex Worms
    Daphnia
    Bloodwroms
    Ocean Plankton
    Baby Freez dried Shrimp
    Brime Shrimp
    and many more,
    Hikari has no Ethoxyquin![IMG]

    Other brands,
FMR hermit food & FMR Treat
"Shell Shanty" Hermit The Crab Deluxe hermit food
    "T-Rex" Crab Island hermit food
"Ocean Nutrition" Seasweed Select- Red/Green/ Brown Algae. I belive has Etho.
"San Francisco Bay Brand" Seaweed Salad
    "Red Sea" Zooplanton
All of the above are Ethoxyquin free.
Now if you use shrimp pellets make sure it is free of Ethoxyquin as i noticed alot of them have it in the ingrediants, i will find one that is safe. [IMG]

Now for other foods used as treats or mixed in with daily feedings, Pet Bird foods and treats work well.
    "Kaytee Healthy Toppings"
    Coconut & Raspberries
    Apple Bits
    Carrots & Greens
    Mixed Nuts
    Papaya
Also dry from Kaytee "Bird Greens"

    "Just Veggie/Just Fruit Treats" Brand
    Veggies
    fruit
    Peaches
    Mango
    Corn
    Blueberries
    Blackberries

    "Fruit Bites" brand
    Island Breeze
    Tropical Berry
    Garden Gourment Veggies

You can also use one drop of Creamed Red Palm Fruit Oil mixed in with treats or food.

I will be adding to this list many more foods that are safe.
Here are a few foods i use once every other week if that and just a small tiny pinch that does contain the Ethoxyquin but the hermies go nuts over it.
    "Ocean Nutrition"
    Prime Reef
Formula Two Marine Pellet has garlic in it, Very strong SMELLING stuff. Hermies go crazy for this stuff. [IMG]

    "Tetra Bettamin"
    Tropical Medley

And there you have it for now.. [IMG]

Wow, that's an awesome list! Thanks so much! That would be great if Sandra could add her herbs to the list, as well as ANYONE else who has some treats or recipes to share, that are (of course) ETHOXYQUIN free.
