My first car =), a serious woman-getter The Make: 1987 Mazda 323 Hatchback Nickname: "Snowball" Mileage When Aquired: 75,788 Price I bought her for: $800 Total Restorative Work Cost: roughly $750 for parts, (New Tires and CV joints, Transmission Re-work) Biggest problem she ever gave me: None :hello2: Total distance she carried me: 17,391 Miles Years Owned: March 22, 1999 to Aug 12, 2001 Stats: (Looking them up) Interesting Things I did to her: Installed a 500W soundsystem, which is a lot for a car so small. Reason I left her: She was just too worn out. Her engine block had cracked when bringing me back to New Orleans from Biloxi. The funny thing is she wated for me to park her in the barracks parking lot before dying. She got me there safe =) My second, beautiful (if not high maintenance) GF The Make: 1992 Ford Taurus SHO Nickname: "Elena" or "Golddigger" Mileage when Aquired: 38,343 Price I paid for her: Nothing. This was my Mom's old car. (I had offered $4000 to my parents for her. since snowball had died on me. The agreed, and brought her to New Orleans. Dad wanted to gamble at Harrah's, and had hit big on a let-it-ride table for a straight flush, winning $15,000. They just handed me the keys when that happened.) Total $ Spent on her $5000 + (Radiator, AC work, Hub replacement, Tires, Electrical work, Stuck spark plug extraction) Biggest problem she ever game me: Several overheats. Later we found out her radiator was chock full of cat-hair. I stuck a new one in her and she was fine. The big killer was when I tried to replace her spark plugs myself. The metal blot had sheared off, leaving the plug in the engine. We had to tap and die it out.) Total Distance Driven: 21,348 Miles Years Owned: Aug 25 2001 to November 2003 Stats: 220hp 3.0 Yamaha V6 engine Reason I left her: She was becoming a money-whore. Every month or so something would break. I'll update this post with VT once the batteries on my camera are charged.
