*PHOTOS* Operation Lori's Gone Nuts! COMPLETE!

  1. Well, my Satuday went better than expected because Jeff got the kids out of the house and I was able to go to town.  It was a fantastic day but it had a really bad down side to it.  I will explain more later (Kathy, I'm sure you know what I mean when it comes to deep cleans).  :crybaby2:

So the 37 aclimated overnight.  Since it was so big, I wanted to see what it would do.  Turns out I needed to calibrate my hydrometer!    The darned thing read 65% when the whole thing was steamed up! LOL

The 20L sat on the counter over night.

Saturday I started to dismantle it while the kids stayed inside.  It was funny how they watched me while I washed up the plasticware, baked their woody items and started to assemble the 37.  The three that were down were the two adoptees...and Wally, who was done with his molt but preferred to peek out the window in the front (you can see it int he picture).  Finally I started moving them in....

I've been kind of tweaking it here and there.  Now I think it needs some more plants and hidey spots.  Tarzan was the first to reach the new long level (mid level).

Titan was navigating the new net configurations

And not so well...LOOK OUT FRECKLES!!!

    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d197/wicked_annabella/May0507027.jpg

Meanwhile, Tarzan lives up to his name and reaches the third and highest level!!  :rockz:

    Titan reaches midworld!

Freckles watches me as I prep for the 10G

And Titan makes his way to the third level!

Wally perches for a view of the new tat.

And ofcourse, what photo montage would be complete without a photo of our beloved Bob the Great???

    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d197/wicked_annabella/May0507051.jpg

Then came the 10g. OMG...never have I lost so many at once.  I lost ALL the quints that I bought a bit ago.  Ruggies that didn't make it.  PPS since they were trying their first molt with me.  And the saddest...Stitch.  My little blue E.  :sad5:  I cried for half an hour...finally, I started back because the 10G was torn apart while I washed everything and they were all running around in a shoebox.

    Here's the 20L

    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d197/wicked_annabella/May0507019.jpg

    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d197/wicked_annabella/May0507020.jpg

I moved Sierra back down because there's more room and she didn't seem happy in the 20L.  Since back in where she has species buddies, she was running around, waving her antenna and shakin her shell!  She seems perkier!

    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d197/wicked_annabella/May0507021.jpg

Then everyone wanted to shell shop!  I don't know if it's because they were freshly boiled or if they were just in the mood...but dang!  Now I don't know any of them and I've pretty much given up on trying! LOL

    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d197/wicked_annabella/May0507035.jpg

One of the twins made it to the new level.

    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d197/wicked_annabella/May0507036.jpg

    And everyone was still shopping.

    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d197/wicked_annabella/May0507037.jpg

But some hung out on the Beach side...

    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d197/wicked_annabella/May0507050.jpg

    Here's the whole shabang..

    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d197/wicked_annabella/May0507030.jpg

I'm so sad, but very happy at the same time.  The 10G was horrible, but then, I hadn't bought so many crabbies at the same time.  The fact that I lost ALL of them makes me believe it was PPS.  I am just really sad I lost Stitch.  He seemed to be doing so well!  I wonder if someone dug him up?

    I'll never know.

Okay....so, what do you guys think???

I think both tanks look awesome Wickie!  :rockz: You did a great job! And I love your pics, I'm glad you included one of Bob the Great! just to placate all us adoring fans. :hail:

And I'm so sorry for your losses, Wickie. :sad5: It always seems like sometimes I buy batches that do really great and then I buy batches that do really badly. There's no way to tell for sure why since we don't know what they had to endure before they got to the pet store.

I'm sorry for you loss but everything and everyone else looks wonderful. I was wondering where you got that long second level from? it looks amazing and so much fun for the crabbies. Great job wick  :hermiefun2:

  4. Actually, I stumbled across them at Menards (a home improvement store).  I did notice walmart is carrying them too, but this one has FOUR HUGE suction cups.  I think the ones I saw at walmart only had three.

Sorry about all that Wick  :huggies:

I'm wondering since it was an entire batch if it wasn't PPS, but maybe something else. A disease?

Your tanks look amazing! Your pictures show their personalities, great names!

wow the same height as my 75--it looks taller!

  14. Well it only took one day for the little buggars to trash the tanks!  lol  Tarzan at one point was pushing the moss off the third level then leaning over to watch it fall. Little brat!  This morning, someone tore the hydrometer off the tank wall (most likely Titan as he LOVES to hug them)

In the 20L the e's overturned the cocoa hut, tore down the plant and pulled down the choya wood.  Not to mention the bombs they dug!

Goofs. ALL of them are GOOFS!!!

Beautiful set up!  The 37 G looks to be as tall as I am from the pics!  Yeah.....crabbies are such tank trashers.  We make it look nice....they destroy it.  It's a vicious circle.  :spunky:
