I got a 20 gallon long tank! My cousins' iguana was in it, but it passed away so they decided to give it to me(the tank, not the iguana) And this thread is where I'm going to share updates on it. Right now it's empty, but I have some ideas for it! Right now I'm thinking of it having 2 different substrates in it, Eco Earth, and Play sand, And there will be slightly more play sand than Eco Earth. The EE will be the "forest side" of the tank, on the left, and the Play Sand will be the "beach side" of the tank, on the right.

Here's a pic of the tank:

[IMG] The first thing I thought of when I saw it was how big it was! They look way bigger in real life than they do in pictures.

Here's a pic of the decorations I'm planning on using:

[IMG] The stuff on the left is for the "forest side" and the stuff on the right is for the "Beach side".

For the cholla thing I just zip-tied a vine I bought at a pet store to a piece of cholla wood, then stuck a fake flower I found from michael's onto where a leaf was supposed to go. To make the pot I took leaves from the vine and glue gunned them to the pot. They're both really simple.

I'm thinking of glue-gunning some shells to the rock but I'm not sure about it yet.

My parents said I;m allowed to get the eco earth, playsand, and the other things I need after I finish the homework I need to do over the summer.

I'll draw some plans on MS paint and post them up here later.
Thanks For reading this, more updates to come!

Any feedback or suggestions will help.

Thanks for the info. I'll check if the glue I'm using is toxic.

You can just use aquarium sealant (available at pet stores in the fish aisle) instead of the hot glue. It's completely crab-safe!

Alright. I haven't been updating in a while, because I was trying to get the stuff. So now I have the sand and the plexiglas! I'll most likely be getting the EE and stuffs tomorrow, and I might seal the plexiglas onto the tank later today(might is the key word thingy). Just posting this so that people don't think I just gave up on this whole thing. :p

That set up looks great! You don't want the crabs to accidentally eat the hot glue. Your dog is really cute and fluffy!:D

Thank you for the nice comments. I actually gave myself more room than I had in the plan, so everything might turn out all crowded up lol. Just wanted to say that the plexiglas is now glued to the aquarium. I was gonna show pics of it but with the plexi and the tank and the white backroudnd you just couldn't see anything. I may print out a background(as simple for me as searching "forest" and/or "beach" on google and printing out whatever I find :p) to make it look cooler later on. Tomorrow is the time when I'll add all the eco earth that I will go and buy today(at least that is the plan). If that does happen then I'll post pics!! again thanks for all the positive feedback and for following this thread, I really appreciate it.:D
