With every negative event, finding a positive outcome is important to me. Since my bearded dragon Snoopy passed away, I've been staring at his 40 gallon tank with attachment to his memory and knowing that I had to move on by getting rid of it.

However, it occured to me that my hermies needed a larger home. Below are pictures of Snoopy's old 40 gallon modified into a crabitat. All 6 of my hermies are excitedly wondering around and checking out their new crabitat. I used one of the ISO tanks for the crabbies to have a second story.

Awesome!! That's clever, using an iso tank as a second storey! Are you still going to use it as an iso? I had one of those 1 gallon critter keepers, but I decided to take off the lid and use it as a moss pit kind of thing. Can you post a pic of the whole tank? It looks great!

You should haqve a door so that they can walk in and above the ISO tank. That would be awesome. It looks so great already though. How many are in there?

    That's great!

I'm sorry about your loss, but converting it into a crabitat was a fantastic idea!

    Great job!

    :)

    Oh no, not yet.

I try my best to get on here every once and a while to keep as up to date as possible, but the internet connection makes it hard to get on.

    :D

Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement! :) I've been looking at how much empty space is above everything and will be getting a hemp net and adding some more plastic vines along that.

I've already added a salt water bath in addition to the fresh water bubbler bathe, fresh water dish, and salt water dish. I find that giving them more options increases their abilities to get to the water they want without it being crowded... and it definately helps with humidity especially the bubbler.

Awesome. If you're looking for fake vines definatly try the dollar tree dollar store. You can buy 5' vines for a dollar each. I just headed over with $5 and then I just bought all the vines I could imagine and it filled up my whole 120 gallon tank!

I only use calci sand now as part of their diet. The playground sand I got from Home Depot. It's whiter than normal. The guy told me is was probably from a local place as some of their suppliers are Florida based.
