Thanks! The monkey (last pic) is made from tree fern. It's very lightweight and the crabs love it.

The tank is a 60-65g cube. It's 2ftx2ftx2ft. And they are definately spoiled.

Thanks! It's pretty easy to do, if you have an extra tank to keep your crabs for 3 days. You need plexi glass rods, aquarium sealant and a drill. Just cut the rods to the lengths you need, drill holes every 2 inches and use the sealant to adhere them to the tank. You have to let the sealant cure for 72 hours, and the smell is bad. Summer would be a good time to do it outside, lol

On my other tank I had I did this along the top of the tank and used zipties to hang plants, vines and nets from the top. I liked it a lot.

I have a ? did you buy the tank at a petstore...or did you make it yourself? (Or bought it from someone) I don't think any petstores near me do. It's a cute natural setup btw, :) & the bamboo adds a nice touch, lol. Is it real?

Very different. Extremely creative. Unusual yet simple. Hawaiin or Indonesian motif? (I'm beginning to sound like I'm describing a wine.) Anyway, a real thumbs up!!

Thank you! Yeah, a crabber did a trial on tree fern. Her crabs are doing excellent so I figured ok why not try it. When I was searching Ebay I came across the monkey made out of tree fern. Me being the weird person I am, loved it and got it for the tank. LOL

The tank I got at a reptile store here in the bay area called East Bay Vivarium. They do have an online llink to their store, Im not sure you can buy things through them online though. It's considered a turtle tank. Its lighter then an aquarium. I actually have 2 of these tanks, one isn't being used and is on my shed. The other tank I bought from a friend, she had the same one I did. Both of us modified our tanks with the plexiglass rods. I am thinking of selling the second tank, but not sure. Nice to have just in case.

I'm not sure what to call the tank theme. I like it to look natural, not too busy and cramped but they do need hiding spots. I tend to keep the middle open and use the corners up to the top. I've used everything from grapevine to choya and turtle docks to bushy plants. I even had a fake animal skull in a tank at one time LOL Loved seeing the crabs walk all voer that.

Yeah I thought so too. Still need something at the bottom corner. Just not sure what yet.

I got the bamboo at michaels on sale lol 50% off @ 7.99. So if it should mold, no biggie. I am looking into fake bamboo but price is a lot.

I checked the tank this morning and one piece of the bamboo is on the main floor. Woohooo! They were climbing!!

I know I've seen this asked before, but I'm too lazy to look! :) Can you use any type of real bamboo? I can just go pick some up and it's fine??

It can't be lucky bamboo. That is poisonous. Thats the kind you see in stores in pots that are twisted and bent into shapes etc.
