She did that already
I was thinking more of an electronic publication. I don't do paper!
I love cococrisp's idea! It's so much fun inventing things! My mom got a camera but she said no crab pics until after vacation! She think I broke the last camera, but I didn't it just stopped working.
You could sell some sand for substrate and EE. And maybe some tanks. Those are pretty much the only basic care items you don't have.
Hmm... stuff for kids...
Well, I kind of count as one, I'd say... I'm only 20..
I have a hard time finding large/jumbo shells at stores. And when I find them they are always expensive. But I'd guess you have those.
Maybe you can do some home-made coconut hideys. And you can make food bowls. And swimming pools.
And then you could send the meat and milk as food!!
My main issue was always decorations for the crabs.
Maybe you can have ladders, too. Because I got a second level once but it took me forever to get something for them to climb up to it, because I could never find any net. So I just got a ladder for birds.
I thought about getting the bird ladder but then made a rope ladder from hemp and some cut-up cholla wood.
That's something that could be packageable. How-to instructions for hemp nets and bridges and the hemp and suction cups needed. That'd be like a craft project for all kids,,,even the 20 years olds.
It takes 4 suctions cups, a bunch of hemp, and knitting needles to make a hemp corner platform. Ta-da, fun useful and marketable.
Hermit Crab Journals? Food and Water check boxs on each date, notes to the side.
Color your own backgroud. Print some black/white kid-friendly drawings onto glossy rolled paper. Let kids color.
I sure do like colouring
omg those are so cute! I have to go to PetCo right away and see if I can find those and that wood house thing too! I always need more toy ideas. I like to find things for them to do outside of the tank that doesn't involve crawling under the couch.
I actually made a crab maze like the kind you see mice in. It seems I only have one crab that consistantly finds the way to the treats.
Has anyone ever used a hamster ball? I read you could, and my kids want one but I'm not sure how they work. Can their little legs get stuck in air holes or something?
ive tried the hamster ball and yes they will get stuck...Tore one of my older crabs leg off.
I worry my dog would suddenly think it was a toy just for her! >.>
Once I got one of those painted hideaways, and I boiled it, and the paint started coming off so I can't use it! If you get it, the best thing to do is probably run it over with warm dechlorinated water.
The hampster balls sound cool! Are there any ones with holes too small for there legs to get stuck?
it was the very tip of the leg that got stuck............I'd say no ther isnt LO Lot
Put tape over it from the inside maybe?
Or You'll Suffacate the Poor Crab!!
I didn't say "all" the holes.
You knw what I would do..... Don't buy it.
What the point in buying TOYS anyway!!! all they do is Climb, sleep, eat, fall,Change shells, Climb, sleep ,eat,fall,................ you get the idea
Give them enough things to explore in the tank. Hamster balls I'd avoid.
Nice signature Vicki!
Hermit crabs have gills, so as long as the ball is moist, they could breath, right?
I love my crab exerciser - an under-bed Rubbermaid storage container with stuff I built out of those plastic craft sheets you're supposed to make yarn art project stuff out of. The crabs mostly try to climb the slippery plastic sides of the Rubbermaid, but at least they get exercise and I know exactly what's in there.
