    Hey all,

I was wondering if you had any ideas for new items I can look for getting for the store. My goal is to get a section going at the store just for kids so they can afford to get items they need to keep their crabs alive and healthy.

    Thanks!!

Well, I was thinking that there could be monthly contests for things in your store. I've been playing around with this idea a while. So every month people could enter designs for products in your store. Then we would vote on which sounds like a good idea. The person designing the product would have to either make it and take a piture of it or draw it and take a picture of the drawing so people could get an idea of what it was. Then they would describe it's uses and other things about it. After we vote and get a winner the winner could get as a prize the first one of his or her idea. For instance, if I decided to design a thing that sprayed your substrate or whatever i would get one if I won. The problem would be I might draw a picture of an airplane for hermies and not be able to make it so I think we should all make our things instead of drawing them.... I guess you would get vito rights if you did not want somehting in your store that won. SO basically every one who wanted to enter would make their design, take a piture of it, explain about it with the picture(s) for reference and then get a thing of their design if it made it to the store. but then they would already have one from makeing it... Oh well this whole contest I dea needs a little improving still.

Also, I think premade second levels would be a good idea because people are always asking how to make those.

Hmmm, maybe t-shirts or hide-away boxes if you don't have them. I don't know if you have this on your website but maybe flowers for the tank

You could do shower caddies with hemp ladders if you don't already have those.

I have an idea! Jello packet things! The things you make jello out of! I think jello is safe for hermit crabs! Is it possible to find unflavored jello? I think that would be the only safe kind.

I use something very similar from pet-bliss.

    Playground
    Arg! Hermie Pirate
    Playhouse

And from petco I got this simple little gem, which the hermit crabs loved.
    First home in action
(Crappy photo of my poor tank before I gave it some TLC. Meant to do before/after pictures, but forgot to take the "after" lol. Anyways, that little house thing is from petco - it's like a plastic poly something.)

I worried they were pine and probably drove the people at pet-bliss nuts, but it's just oak.

Vicki could probably write a really great supplimental handbook on crabby care - as could a few others on this site. A collaborative type project that got sent to pet stores and vendors could be interesting.

The problem with books is that hermit crab care constantly changes. So by the time the book would be printed and released, information in there could be wrong. This is why forums are great!
