We got a new Lrg.PP male yesterday. No name yet. He changed into a new shell this morning. He will be one of the first to try out the new tank when he's ready to move. Thought you'd like to have a look at em'. ;)

I was just telling Hermiefun this morning, that he is such a gentle giant! ;)
He came way out of his shell at the pet store to greet me, so I lifted him up and yep no gonopores. Did you see the page on how to determine sex of crabs? Awww.....he just makes my heart melt w/ his great personality. If I didn't know better, I would think someone owned him before me. He seems soo tame! BJ decided to name him Juggernaut, and nickname him "BIG J" for short. The other lil' crab that I bought w/ him, is soo tiny, that we named him Ant! I was scared he/she would get thrown away! Ant is in a shell too big for him, and was amazed when I saw the BP completely disappear from view. It just looked like an empty shell! Ant is currently buried under for now, so when I get a pic. I'll post it here. Thanks for all the compliments everyone, even though he's my son's, I'm still proud of Big J! LOL!

My son and I are into the crabs together too.;) It's a great way to bond with and teach your kids about animals. My son is the one who got our first hermit crab information book from his school library. That made me proud that he wanted to learn about caring for his new pets properly. BTW his cat has his own little leopard print cat bed at the foot of my son's bed:rolleyes:

it has a picture and some information if you would like to look at it.
About the sex of your crab to tell if it's male or female.
