Meet Rerun, who just finished molting sometime last week. He was your typical grayish/brown Equadorian color when he went down, and look at him now! He's developing some lovely blue hues. I hope next time he molts his colors become even more vibrant. I feed them carrots, blueberries, maple leaves, and any other color enhancing food I can come up with on a regular basis. I've had him for three months. :) Look how hairy he is lol and you can almost see a pretty black leg tip down there in the shadows.

You can tell the difference pretty easily just by looking at their eyes.
The Equadorians have eyes that look like candy corn when you look at them from the side. The PP's (Purple Pincers) have more elongated eyes, which are quite red on the end. They also have a distinctive purple colored large pincer. E's will have what look like stitch marks on the front edge of their large pincer. / / / /
The eyes give them away though. I think E's are the cutest :)

This is Gobo, one of my medium Equadorians. I believe he's getting ready to molt. E's dont' change shells often, so when they do it's a big deal, and he changed into a turbo shell recently (which are more favored by PP's). It looks so funny on him. :) He was coming up just under the food dish and pushed a shell aside and sat there in his hole just looking out and wiggling his feelers. See how his exo looks like it's dry on his legs, the edges look like they are coming up and there is new exo underneath.
You can really see the candy corn shaped eyes that are characteristic of Equadorians. :)

It's easier to tell from the side but you can look both ways.

coco, is your browser updated? Not sure why you can't see them :( Maybe need Java?
Really don't know what it takes to be able to see the pics. I have them hosted on Image Shack.
