I couldnt get my pictures to upload in the gallery so I decided to just make a post with my pictures in. I still dont have pictures of my 2 other hermies but here are 3 of them. All of them have switched shells except the pink painted who has been down for about 3 weeks now. Sorry pics aint the best.

    They are really cute!

But you can't expect me not to say anything about the painted shells.

    Remember, paint = toxic!

yes paint is toxic, but unless you want to force the crabs from the painted shells and stress them. I would rather offer plenty of shells for the crab to change when he's ready! i had a crab stay in a painted shell for 2 months before changing shells and all of the crabs i had with him changed! but as soon as one changes i immediatly take the painted shell out boil it and scrape ever last speck of paint off that shell so i could use the natural shell. I had found some gorgous looking shells underneath paint when i first started crabbing!

    Exactly!

What many people don't realize is that there is a pretty shell under all that waste!

Yeah believe me I had plenty of shells for him to switch from. I had 3 in painted shells the other to switched right away but the one in the picture would just not leave that pink shell. Now he is currently molting I believe so hopefully when he comes up he will change. I even ordered a bunch of new shells to see if maybe they suit him better.

Edit: Thanks Hermez I wasnt sure what forum this belonged in.

Yeah, I agree- adorable crabs :)

And I also agree, it's not fair to pull them out. The lil guy will change when he wants to :)
