Well, I've finally changed! I've got a monstrous swimming pool in, 1/4 of the tank is soil the rest is gravel. I've got a hermie hut in the tank vegetiona (finally) (fake plants), I made myself a hermie hammock and am working on getting a second level with moss on it installed into the tank! I love my hermies and they like the tank.:D

Hermie's, your new tank sounds great ... except for one thing ...

Hermit crabs shouldn't be living on gravel as it is not good for them. For 3/4 of your tank to be gravel, that's a lot. You should add more soil (playsand) as this is most natural for them. They also can't dig in gravel ...

That's good the ISO is all sand, but Msdiamonddawg is correct. You shouldn't use gravel, just take it out and replace with sand. The gravel could irritate thier soft abdomens and cut them. Which then could get infected. Not a good thing for the hermit crabs.

AND - Does anyone have any clues for more tank deco ideas? Does anyone know how to make second decks for their tank?

for a second deck you can use a tupperware container and sucction cups i find putting moss in there is the best thing to do or making it shell level that way not as much sand gets into the shells and more then likely they will change shell if they want to.
