I guess you might think they look like spiders because of their legs, but other than that....

Beautiful crabs!! You take some awesome pics!
your pictures are always very cool. Just a word of advice, and please, don't take it negatively...ONCE ( I dont think I will ever do it again) , I held two hermies and my palm was not flat, I was taking them out of their tat at the pet shop, and one hermie pinched me HARD in the curve of my hand between the thumb and the pointer finger. He wouldn't let go until he "took" a little piece of my skin with him. Yes, it bleed, and it got swolen too, I even had a scab. It hurt sooo much. That is why I have a hermie named Chomper. inch:
I've been pretty lucky with the pinching. Only happened once with one of my bigger ones, hurt a bit lol.
Here's some more pics!
Supper is served!
Here's Weird Al, who is in a desperate need of a shell change but is too stubborn to do so.
Can anyone confirm what type of hermit weird al is? I thought a different colored E at first but could he be a ruggy?
Pretty sure he's an E but I can't see under his eyes. Ruggies have black splotches/ spots, Es don't. He looks more E to me.
I think he looks like an E too. :flower:
I wish I could take pictures of my crabs all the time as you do. Any time I want to take and post a pic for a theme they run like jack rabbits and hide. And then I say. What the :shhhh: ! I'll say it again, They dont like me!!!
It's very random the way they act. Some days they all seem ok with me being around and looking at them and others, they run for the hills the moment I get close
Haven't posted in a while but that doesn't mean the crabs haven't had some changes!
Here's some updated pics of my tank and some of its residents

right side ( with lettuce leaf hanging on 1 of the ladders )
I'll put some more up after work!
Have a good day ^_^
It sure has changed, LordRhal! But it is still quite beautiful! I love the colors, accessories, and the way you set it up! It is very pretty, and creative! Nice job! I am sure your hermits' are lovin' it! And I'm sure I would be too, if I was a hermit crabs! :kpics: :rockz:
It's going to be changing again soon. It's about time I do a deep clean and I'll probably change to sand this time around Wonder what it will look like :O
Very Nice!! I like those 3M hooks...they are the only ones I've found that really hold.
Oh wow!! I am liking your tank designs! All of them!! Got my juices flowing and my credit card finger is itching.hahahaha
The 3M hooks are a fabulous idea. Really like that and the stacked baskets are also great.
What an inspiration your pics are.
LOOKS GOOD! :kpics: Thanks for posting
Couldn't find any sand but I changed stuff around anyways, because I can!
The clear plastic tupperwares are all hanging either from the ladders or fishing line holding it up, like a little tree top floating thingy.. lol.
The left side, almost unchanged, added stuff in the backround.
middle, put back my trusty skull and potted my plant ;p, food is hidden under, figure they would be less shy to go eat.
close up of skull and plant.
can never have too many shells.
Luv the newly updated/cleaned tank!
P.S. I love the skull, and your crabs are so cute! Nice pics., by the way! You are a good photographer!
Ooooo...great tank!! It's too cool! :sunny:
There's only one thing that "for me" would be a concern.
I too contemplated using fishing line for something with one of my setups. I wondered though if somehow they got tangled or the line got into one of their
leg joints or GASP got around one of their eyes, would it end up cutting into them?
So, I decided to go with natural Jute twine/string.
Just a thought...
