Since I own four geckos, I breed my own mealworms, and my population is getting quite large. I was wondering if anyone knew how to dry them so that I could store and feed them to my hemit crabs later. Also, would the mealworm castings be any good for them?

You could freeze them til they die, then put them in a dehydrator if you wanted them dried. Or just keep them in the freezer and pull out the amount you need.

Definately try the mealworm castings. Let me know how it goes with the crabs liking/disliking them. I bet they go nuts over them though, just like the earthworm castings.

I actually eat mealworms myself dehydrated. They go great with a little cumin and cayenne pepper powder on them. Mmmmm

Really. Lots of protein for weight lifting. If you eat it plain it tastes like popcorn.

Well, my hermies didn't "attack" the mealworm castings, but they didn't hate them either. They ate some and moved it around a bit, but that's just about it.

Let us know how the second feeding goes too. Sometimes that is when they devour something!
