i got trixie 4 days ago, and he has been sitting all curled up in the corner by his water dish every day since then. If he isn't there, he is squished between two shells i put in his crabitat. I don't think he is molting because he doesn't look too big for his shell yet, but i can't think of anything else. is he stressed??? im monitering humidity and all that. HELP!!! :(

Maybe he just likes it there. I don't think you can really tell if a crab is planning to molt based on how they fit their shells though. If you got him recently, he's probably trying to just chill out. So long as your tank is set up correctly, and you're feeding a good meal of calcium and protein, don't worry about it.

It took about two months for some of mine to completely unstress.

Is there a place for him to hide?
